[4]Joseph Kirkland was originally declared the winner, but Henry Huntington contested the election and prevailed. "Resolved, as the sense of this committee, that Henry Huntington hath been duly elected a Delegate to the Convention in and for the conty of Oneida, instead of Joseph Kirkland returned as such, and that the said Henry huntington ought to be admitted to his seat accordingly and the seat of said Joseph Kirland vacated." Journal of the Convention, October 13, 1801.
[5]"That from like satisfactory documents of the Clerk of the said town of Braidgewater, it appears to the committee, that by the return of the Inspectors of the said town, recored in his office,"Henry Huntington" had three votes, which gives him a majority of one vote in the said county above the said Joseph Kirkland."
