[6]The Federalists were referred to as members of the British Party in the October 21 edition of The Democratic Press (Philadelphia, PA). This was a Jeffersonian newspaper and wanted to make the Federalists look bad by referring to them as the "British Party." The Federalists are referred to as Whigs in The Intelligencer, and Weekly Advertiser (Lancaster, PA) from October 24, 1812. The Republicans are referred to as Whigs in Der Readinger Adler (Reading, PA) from November 3, 1812.
