From 1804 until 1811 Clearfield county voted with Centre county by an act of the legislature stating: "That the county of Clearfield shall be an election district, and the electors thereof shall hold their general elections at the house of Benjamin Jordan, in the said district, and shall be entitled to vote for members of the Federal and State Legislatures, sheriffs, commissioners, and other county officers for Centre County."
