[4]The original official election returns report 1414 total votes for James S. Mitchell, which is 64 less than the sum of the township totals reported in local newspapers. There are two townships that gave 64 votes: Franklin and Monaghan. It seems that one of these townships was not counted in the official totals.
[5]Part of Paradise Township voted with the York District, while the other part voted with the Hanover District.
