It was supposed that not more than twenty additional votes would be taken after he left it, . . . Noland 385 (or 386), Mercer 372, Gregg 215, Mason 131, and Osborn 124." [7]The Virginia Argus (Richmond, VA) lists 386 votes for William Noland, 372 votes for Charles F. Mercer, and 215 votes for Thomas Gregg. Their source is "a gentleman from Loudon."
