Correspondence from October 19 states: "In the return which has been forwarded by us for the Congressional District composed of the city and county of Philadelphia and the county of Delaware, a mistake has occurred; the enclosed is the correct return which you will please to receive. [signed] Thomas Kitten, Samuel Davis, John Goodman." The enclosed return lists 12506 votes for John Sergeant, 7592 for Joseph Hemphill, 7450 for William Milnor, and 6876 for Samuel Edwards.
