Notes:

[1]The original returns list 3102 votes for James Fisk and 2279 for William Chamberlain; however, including votes rejected for technicalities, James Fisk received 3177 votes and William Chamberlain 2316.
[2]"The majorities for the honorable Messrs. Shaw [Southwest District] and Fisk would have been increased about 100 each, if all the votes in their respective districts had been regularly and seasonably returned." Rutland Vermont Herald (Rutland, VT). October 24, 1810.
[3]The Freemen's Press (Montpelier, VT), September 6, lists 65 votes for William Chamberlain in Montpelier.
[4]The votes from Fairlee were rejected. The North Star (Danville, VT), November 10, notes that the "certificate did not name the day of meeting, and [was] otherwise incorrect."
[5]According to the original election returns, there was "no certificate of number of votes" in Northfield.
[6]There were no votes recorded in Holland.
