[19]"It is to be regretted, that the perons who make the nominations in some of the towns, are not more attentive in giving the names of the candidates correctly. Mr. Davenport lost 826 votes for the want of the addition of Jun. the number actually given for him being 7764, Mr. Pitkin lost 190 in the same way and 131 by a mistake in the christian name, the whole number given for him being 8075, Mr. Bacon lost 510, his whole number being 7335, Mr. Webster 142, his whole number being 7307 and Mr. Holmes lost 288 by the addition of Jun. his whole number being 7575.
