Notes:

[1]"Berkshire Public Buildings. The Petition of the inhabitant of Pittsfield, and many other towns in this County, praying for a removal of the Public Buildings from Lenox to Pittsfield, has been rejected by the legislature of this Commonwealth. The vote in both branches was nearly unanimous, for giving the petitioners leave to withdraw their petitions, and for this reason because a large majority of the people of the County had declared, by their votes, that they were opposed to the contemplated removal, as will be seen from the following statement of the votes given on the question, in November last." The Pittsfield Sun (Pittsfield, MA). March 9, 1815.
[2]"No return." The Pittsfield Sun (Pittsfield, MA). March 9, 1815.
