Notes:

[1]Elected.
[2]"That the whole number of votes for Governor is sixteen thousand seven hundred and sixty-two, that his Excellency John Taylor Gilman, has ten thousand three hundred and sixty-two - the honorable Timothy Walker, Esq. has six thousand and thirty-nine - scattering votes three hundred and sixty-one; his Excellency Governor Gilman, having a majority in the whole of three thousand nine hundred and sixty-two, is elected." Journal of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, 1800. 19.
[3]"February and March saw the first really vigorous party contest in state history. The Republicans demonstrated their political sagacity and their newfound discipline by supporting Judge Timothy Walker of Concord against Governor Gilman. A 'real Jacobin' like Goddard or Woodbury Langdon would hardly have received a vote outside the Portsmouth neighborhood, but Walker cut Gilman's majority from 86 percent to a little less than 62 percent of the votes (fn: New Hampshire Register, 1860. 40.). Judge Walker attracted a moderate Federalist element as well as the whole Republican electorate." The Ninth State. 181.
