[26]"The Chairman of the Selectmen stated that the assessors had not taken the number of polls in all the wards, but that in those in which they were taken there was but little variation from the number returned last year, and that there was no doubt there were as many as 10,000 polls, which would entitle the town to forty five representatives. A motion that twenty five be chosen, was made and agreed to without opposition." The Repertory (Boston, MA). May 14, 1821.
[27]"The Chairman of the Selectmen requested the Inhabitants to prepare and bring in their votes for twenty five person, to represent the town in the General Court the year ensuing. At the close of the Poll, it appeared that the whole number of Votes was 1610. Necessary to make a choice 806." Boston Town Records. 199.
