[4]The Columbian (New York, NY), The Columbian. (For the Country) (New York, NY), and New-York Evening Post (New York, NY) use the spelling Abram for Abraham Miller.
[5]"Mr. Isaacs was no regular candidate, but certain gentlemen, who seem to have had it more at heart to defeat Mr. Odell, than to promote the success of the peace ticket, struck his name out and substituted that of Mr. Isaacs. And as it appears that all the federalists in certain towns did the same, if seems pretty evident those federalists must have been persuaded that Mr. Isaacs had become a candidate ; otherwise it would be to suppose they knowingly threw away their votes, and thus evidently lent their aid to secure the election of Miller : a supposition derogatory to them and which, therefore, we cannot very readily admit. To the honor of Mr. Isaacs, it ought to be mentioned, that he gave no countenance to this procedure, but openly expressed his disapprobation of it." New-York Evening Post (New York, NY).
