I had not an opportunity until now of seeing them; and as the polls of the district are this day compared at this place, I have the pleasure of furnishing you with a statement of the whole from the poll books -- which are as follow: ...Mr. Sheffey has 3519 votes in the district, and Mr. Preston 609: -- leaving Mr. Sheffey a majority of 2910 votes!
