[2]"Mr. Editor - I observed in the last Spy, an account of votes given at the late election for a Register of Deeds, in this county. The person making that statement probably meant to be correct in his account of the number that each of the most prominent candidates had - but finding the exhibit there made, and also in some other newspapers, varying very considerably from the truth, although called 'the official return' I take the liberty to furnish you with a correct list of the votes, at said election, as returned from the several towns in the County, excepting Hubbardston and Milford, which made no return; and beg you will have the goodness to insert in your paper, that a fair understanding made be had by the people of this County respecting the former trial. Yours, etc. An Enquirer" The National Aegis (Worcester, MA). July 3, 1816.
