Notes:

[1]A leading elector on both Tammany and Anti-Tammany lists.
[2]Declined shortly before the election.
[3]Nominated to replace Ethan A. Brown.
[4]Declined shortly before the election.
[5]Nominated to replace William Wilson.
[6]Western Intelligencer (Worthington, OH) of September 18, 1812 lists the members of the Tammany Ticket as "Democratic Republicans" and includes John Kilbourn in that list.
[7]Western Intelligencer (Worthington, OH) of October 21, 1812 and The Supporter (Chillicothe, OH) of October 24, 1812 list Calvin Pease, Josiah Hedges, William Wells, William Wilson, William W. Irwin, Solomon Langdon, Oliver M. Spencer and John Thompson as pledged to DeWitt Clinton and Eldbridge Gerry. Eldbridge Gerry was running as James Madison's running mate.
[8]Though DeWitt Clinton was the Federalist candidate, he was a dissident Republican and the slate of electors pledged for him in Ohio were all Republicans.
[9]An account of this election can be found in William T. Utter's, A History of the State of Ohio. Volume II, 60-62.
[10]The Supporter (Chillicothe, OH), American Watchman; and Delaware Republican (Wilmington, DE), The Alexandria Herald (Alexandria, VA) and Liberty Hall (Cincinnati, OH) list David Abbott with 6255 votes.
[11]The Muskingum Messenger (Zanesville, OH) lists Thomas MacCune with 811 votes.
[12]The Poulson's American Daily Advertiser (Philadelphia, PA) states the Clinton ticket "will be supported by a respectable number of Republicans, Friends to Peace, Commerce and National Honor, in a vigorous and manly prosecution of the present war, until an honorable peace can be obtained."
[13]The Muskingum Messenger (Zanesville, OH) of November 18, 1812 describes the Anti-Tammany Ticket as a "Clinton Ticket under a mask of friendship for Madison... as we believe the intention of those who formed the ticket must have been secretly to support Clinton, or at any rate, to divide the republicans, so that the Clinton ticket might succeed, we shall range them on the other side."
[14]"It is well known by almost every person in the state, what exertions were made here for the Clinton ticket: every art and intrigue was made use of to gull and deceive the credulous, Pamphlets by horse loads were distributed in every direction to injure the reputation of Mr. Madison, but vain were all their exertions, and vain their expectations of success." The Muskingum Messenger (Zanesville, OH). November 18, 1812.
[15]The Liberty Hall (Cincinnati, OH) of October 20, 1812 listed a Republican ticket that was a combination of Tammany Ticket electors (Matthias Corwin), Anti-Tammany electors (Nathaniel Massie, Thomas Kirker, Hiram Curry) and electors who had not been listed on any ticket (Othniel Looker, John MacLaughlin, James Sergeant). In the Liberty Hall of October 27, 1812, Othniel Looker stated "having observed my name mentioned in Liberty Hall of last week as a candidate for an elector... the notice is too short to circulate throughout the state in time... I think it would be bad policy in times like these to distract the public attention by new candidates at so late a period," instead, endorsing the Tammany ticket.
[16]The Liberty Hall (Cincinnati, OH) of October 20, 1812 lists John Morris and Ambrose Ransom as candidates for elector who would vote for James Madison, but no votes are recorded for either of them.
[17]"An article in the New-York Columbian says, the ticket which is there said to be Madisonian was set up and voted for as the Tammany, or Clintonian Ticket, and that the persons chosen will vote for Clinton." The Vermont Mirror (Middlebury, VT). December 2, 1812.
[18]Both the Muskingum Messenger (Zanesville, OH) of November 18, 1812 and the Columbian of November 24, 1812 list a fourth ticket, as Federalists. The Muskingum Messenger (Zanesville, OH) lists it as supporting Rufus King. The listed members of the "Federalist Ticket" are William Wells, Calvin Pease, William C. Schenck, Thomas Kirker, Benjamin Gilman, William Creighton, James Finley and John Kerr. Neither newspaper lists the ticket as receiving any votes.
[19]"A Chillicothe Madisonian paper claims the electors chosen in that state for Madisonian. This is certainly new ground; for in Chillicothe (and we presume in the same paper) the very men were stigmatized as Clintonian when first nominated, and but one of them, if we recollect rightly, took the pains to disavow the imputation. Now the ticket has succeeded, it is very convenient to term it Madisonian. Be it so. Perhaps they never discovered the sentiments of the candidates till after they were elected. And another discovery may still be made on the 2d of December. The fact is, the electors are not pledged to either Mr. Madison or Clinton." Columbian. November 24, 1812.
[20]Madison electors had a majority of 128.
[21]"In Columbiana County we understand Dewit Clinton had about 20 votes." The Western Herald (Steubenville, OH). November 5, 1812.
[22]"The result of the presidential election in this County is about 96 votes in favour of the Madisonian ticket." The Western Herald (Steubenville, OH). November 5, 1812.
[23]"From seven townships in Licking county, the votes were 163 Madisonian and 53 Clintonian." American Watchman; and Delaware Republican (Wilmington, DE). November 18, 1812.
[24]"In this county at the Presidential election on Friday last, the Clintonian ticket had a large majority. We have not been able to learn the precise state of the polls in the different townships, but with the exception of Jefferson and German townships, the Clintonian ticket was run generally." The Ohio Centinel (Dayton, OH). November 4, 1812.
[25]"From the best information we have been able to obtain, about 500 votes have been given in the different townships in Muskingum county for electors, of president and vice president, of which about 400 were Madisonian and 100 Clintonian." American Watchman; and Delaware Republican (Wilmington, DE). November 18, 1812.
[26]Trump of Fame (Warren, OH) only gave results by Presidential Candidate (Madison or Clinton) and not by individual elector.
[27]The Calvin Pease Papers include the results of a single unidentified township in Trumbull County. This township gave 21 votes to the Madison electors and 27 votes to the Clinton electors.
