[2]"Agreeable to a law passed at the last session, the legislature of this State met at the Capitol on Monday last. William Logan, Esq. was unanimously appointed Speaker of the House of Representatives. Six candidates were nominated to fill the office of clerk to the house, viz. messrs. Thomas Dougherty, Gabriel J. Johnson, Thomas Montgomery, Micah Taul, James Blair, Isham Talbot. Thomas Dougherty had a majority of votes and was consequently elected." The Palladium (Frankfort, KY).
