[3]"The Hon. House having made choice of the Hon. George Cabot Esq. to represent this State in the Senate of the United States, the same was sent up for concurrence. A committee was chosen to collect, sort and count the votes for a Federal Senator, who reported that the whole number of votes was 31, that the Hon. George Cabot Esq. had 24 votes, and was chosen a Senator of the United States, to commence when the time of the hon. Tristram Dalton Esq. expires." The Massachusetts Centinel (Boston, MA).
