[16]"The Poll was closed at half past One O'Clock when it appeared that the whole number of votes given in was 796, necessary to make a choice 399. [17]"A meeting was held yesterday at Faneuil Hall for the choice of persons to represent the town in the General Court the ensuing year. At the closing of the poll it was found that the whole number of votes given in was 796, of which the following gentlemen had a very large majority and were elected .... The scattering votes were about 180. Some candidates' names were on all the tickets - but none of the individuals elected had less than 612."
