[1]"On Tuesday last, the committee appointed to try the validity of the election of John B. Trevor, a sitting member from Fayette County, reported, that upon a full examination of documents and testimony, etc. 'John B. Trevor had 987 Legal votes, and that Morris Morris had 987 Legal votes. And that therefore the election of the said John B. Trevor is illegal and void.' Where upon the speaker declared the seat of John B. Trevor to be vacated." The Reporter (Washington, PA). January 31, 1820. This special election was held in February 1820 in order to determine whether John B. Trevor or Morris Morris would hold the vacated seat.
