Notes:

[1]Elected.
[2]On October 1, 1822, Samuel Delucenna Ingham was elected as a Republican, by the 6th district of Pennsylvania, to the Seventeenth Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Samuel Moore. He held this seat for the remainder of the Seventeenth Congress from October 7, 1822 through March 3, 1823. Samuel D. Ingham was then elected on October 8, 1822, to the Eighteenth Congress, now representing the 8th district of Pennsylvania which had been redistricted from the 6th district, prior to the start of the first meeting of the Eighteenth Congress on March 4, 1823.
[3]Most sources, including the American Sentinel and Mercantile Advertiser (Philadelphia, PA) and Der Northampton Correspondent (Easton, PA), report 4002 total votes for Samuel Sitgreaves, but please note that these sources also report 1 vote more for him in Lehigh County than do the sources which list the township totals in that county, otherwise, the sum of the votes for Sitgreaves in the district would be 4001 rather than 4002.
[4]Some sources report 2111 votes for Samuel D. Ingham, including the Correspondent and Farmers' Advertiser (Doylestown, PA)and the Expositor (Easton, PA), but the sum of the townships totals they list is 2121. Some sources report the same 2111 votes without listing the individual township totals, such as the Lancaster Intelligencer (Lancaster, PA).
[5]The Union. United States Gazette and True American (Philadelphia, PA) reports 2110 votes for Samuel D. Ingham in its October 15th edition, but reports 2111 votes for him in its October 18th edition and 2120 votes in its October 19th edition.
[6]The Franklin Gazette (Philadelphia, PA) also changes the votes it reports for Samuel D. Ingham from 2110 in its October 16th edition to 2120 in its October 19th edition.
[7]The Expositor (Easton, PA) reports 152 votes for Samuel Sitgreaves, but lists the same total votes for the county.
[8]The Easton Centinel (Easton, PA) and the Spirit of Pennsylvania October 18th edition include township totals in Lehigh County, and report a sum of 786 votes for Samuel Sitgreaves in Lehigh County. Most sources do not include the township totals in this county, but they report 787 total votes for Sitgreaves.
[9]The populated place known as Butz's refers to an area located within present day Bethlehem Township.
[10]"Easton district, composed of the borough of Easton, and the townships of Forks, Williams, Plainfield, and Nazareth." The Perry Forester (Landisburg, PA). October 17, 1822.
[11]The Spirit of Pennsylvania (Easton, PA) lists Saccona as "Saucon."
