Notes:

[1]Elected.
[2]"At a meeting held on August 4, 1804, the Republicans in that county selected . . . John Pearson for the State Senate . . . Under pressure from the city and county conferees, another meeting was held in Delaware County which chose conferees and instruced them to support Pearson for Senator. The latter by this time was suspected of complicity with the Quids; and the committee of conference forced the Republicans in Delaware County to hold a third meeting on September 28, 1804, which dropped Pearson and recommended William Pennell in his stead. Another meeting on the same sate upheld Pearson, and the Aurora began to denounce him publicly." Higginbotham, Sanford W. The Keystone in the Democratic Arch: Pennsylvania Politics, 1800-1816. Philadelphia: Pennyslvania Historical and Museum Commission, 1952. 71.
[3]Poulson's American Daily Advertiser (Philadelphia, PA) and The True American and Commercial Advertiser (Philadelphia, PA) list William Pennel with 1091 votes and John Pearson with 463 votes.
