However, it does not indicate if the numbers correspond to part of Dauphin County or perhaps to a partial count after part of the time during which the election was held (such as after the first day), or both.
[6]The Oracle of Dauphin, October 13, 1804, lists numbers broken down by town, including vote counts for five out of fifteen towns (Harrisburg - 80 and 80; Lower Paxton - 15 and 29; Swatara - 7 and 13; Middletown - 47 and 5; and, Palmstown - 57 and 18 for Frederick Smith and Gabriel Heister, respectively). These partial counts add up to 206 votes for Frederick Smith, and 144 votes for Gabriel Heister. In addition, Gabriel Heister, sen. is listed with 10 votes from Palmstown.
