[8]Ebenezer Walter and Thomas L. Judge were actually Federalists, but they ran on the Republican ticket (which, to add confusion, the Delaware Gazette of October 9 refers to as the "Anti Republicans"). Since the Federalists were dominant in Sussex County, the Republicans may have hoped to get more votes by putting some Federalists on their ticket.
