[2]Jacob Norris was elected in the regular election; however, he was deemed to be ineligible to hold his seat as he was an officer in the State Militia. A new election was ordered. Jacob Norris resigned his Militia Office and again became a candidate along with Nicholas D. MacComas in a special election for the vacant seat in the House of Delegates.
