[1]A deadlock in the State Senate resulted in no choice in four ballots in 1810. The election was pushed off to 1811.
[2]"The Senate, agreeable to assignment at the last session, this day resumed the ballot for a person to represent this State, in the Congress of the U. States in the room of the Hon. Mr. Pickering, whose term of service will expire with the 3d March next. After balloting this day, no choice being made, the Senate sent down the subject non-concurred." Columbian Centinel.
