Notes:
[1]Elected.
[2]"CorLynch came here last night from Pittsburg to say, I am elected Member of Congress by a majority of 120 votes above Brackenridge who ran a very high poll in Allegheny -- 700 votes it is said -- Scott had not 200 there -- Woods much less than Brackenridge." Albert Gallatin Papers. ALS to Thomas Claire. Roll No. 3, Frame 0265.
[3]"Mr. Gallatin's name was introduced all of a sudden and without his knowledge. Almost every vote given to him may be reckoned as taken from Mr. Scott, who otherwise would (I believe) have had the votes of all who voted for Mr. Gallatin. It was almost universally understood in this county that Mr. Brackenridge had declined. As so many votes given to such a fellow as Dan. Hamilton (if not given in jest) are so far disgraceful to the county it is proper to distinguish the districts in which they were given." General Advertiser (Philadelphia, PA). October 25, 1794.
