[1]"The Legislature of Pennsylvania met at Harrisburg on the 6th inst. A quorum of both houses appeared on that day...neither of the candidates having a majority, the senate then adjourned ~ the next day the same ballot was made." The Pittsburgh Gazette (Pittsburgh, PA). December 20, 1814. The Senate ultimately cast two ballots on December 6 and two ballots on December 7 before a decision was made on December 8.
