Notes:

[1]Elected.
[2]"We understand that the result of the election in this county on Monday last to supply the vacancy in the senate occasioned by the death of Col. Rector is as follows:" Western Monitor (Lexington, KY). October 22, 1822.
[3]"This is a complete triumph of the anti-relief ticket. Mc'Alister was announced as opposed to relief measures. Some gentlemen on the same side of the question, not having full confidence in him resolved to run Judge Lucas (who had repeatedly refused to become a candidate) and took measures accordingly on the day before the election. Dr. Nash, radically a relief candidate, was distanced as is seen in the above statement." Western Monitor (Lexington, KY). October 22, 1822.
[4]No election was held in Bonhomme.
