[3]During the Legislative session which convened on May 1820, a movement was undertaken to revise the State Constitution and on June 14, 1820 a bill to consider calling a Constitution Convention was passed by the Legislature. August 21, 1820 was set as the date for those qualified to vote Yes or No on the calling of such a Convention. The vote calling for a Convention prevailed. The election for Delegates to this Constitutional Convention was scheduled for October 16, 1820. Those Delegates elected from the various towns were to convene on November 15, 1820.
