[3]New Brunswick, Nov. 6. Richard Howell, Esquire, has been re-elected Governor by the Legislature, now in session, without opposition. There was some talk of other candidates for that office, we are happy to find that his election was unanimous." The Poughkeepsie Journal (Poughkeepsie, NY). November 13, 1798.
[4]"It is with infinite satisfaction we inform our readers, that yesterday the federal interest of N. Jersey obtained a complete triumph over the anti-federal junto. Notwithstanding the attempts which were made by the latter to oust Gov. Howell, he was reelected Governour by an almost unanimous vote--there being only one in the opposition."
