[9]There was a petition made to investigate the vote count in Brookhaven. A document dated May 26, 1813, signed by Deputy Secretary of State Archibald Campbell, verifies the vote count as John Lefferts 307, Ebenezer Sage 306, Peter A. Jay 127, and Benjamin B. Blydenburgh 126.
