[2]Elected.
[3]An early election ticket published in the Northumberl. Republicaner (Sunbury, PA) on September 19, 1812 lists William N. Irwin as a candidate, but he was later replaced by Isaac Smith.
[4]The full list of candidates is taken from the Original Election Returns and the Original Election Certificate for the Tenth Congressional District. The Original Election Certificate separates votes cast for Daniel Montgomery and Daniel Montgomery, Jr., however, it is assumed that the votes were intended for the same candidate. The Original Election Certificate distinguishes 6 votes cast for Enos Smith, which were most likely intended for Enoch Smith, and this Enoch Smith's vote total here is 6 votes higher than as published in most sources.
[5]The Original Election Certificate lists one vote each for Smith Baily, George Deal, James Smith, and Roswell Wells though it is not stated in which county these votes were cast.
[6]In some sources, votes from Bradford County are included in the reported vote total of Lycoming County.
[7]The Gleaner (Wilkes-Barre, PA) from November 6, 1812 explains that votes from Bradford County come from "that part of Bradford attached to Luzerne."
[8]The Gleaner (Wilkes-Barre, PA) from November 6, 1812 lists 770 total votes for Nathan Beach, however, the township totals provided add up to the correct total of 779 total votes in the county.
[9]The Gleaner (Wilkes-Barre, PA) from November 6, 1812 mistakenly lists 33 votes for Enoch Smith.
[10]"According to a History of Lycoming County, there were several islands in the Susquehanna River which runs through the county. Over time, many of these islands just washed away. The biggest of these islands was called Bailey's Island, but the term Big Island is used in early election returns as a voting district."
[11]Parts of McKean, Potter, and Tioga Counties voted with Lycoming County. Potter County was created in 1804 from Lycoming County and remained attached "to Lycoming County until 1814 when it was authorized to elect commissioners jointly with McKean County. McKean and Potter Counties were separated in 1824, but Potter was still attached to McKean for judicial purposes. It was fully organized in 1835." History of the Counties McKean, Elk, Cameron and Potter, Pennsylvania. Chicago: J.H. Beers and, 1890.
[12]Eulalia Township was the first township in Potter County. When the county was created the whole county was put in Eulalia TownshiEulalia is listed as Ulalia in The Lycoming Gazette from October 21.
[13]Returns from Susquehanna County are not listed individually in any source, however, since Susquehanna is the only county not reported individually, the county totals have been dtermined by subtracting known returns from the district total.
[14]In some sources, votes from Tioga County are included in the reported vote total of Lycoming County.
