[2]"On Tuesday Last, William Clark was re-elected State Treasurer for the current year. Richard M. Crain had been nominated but his name was withdrawn before the election. Mr Mitchell of Centre County voted for Mr. Crain. Absent 15 members." Harrisburg Chronicle (Harrisburg, PA). January 16, 1823.
[3]The Franklin Gazette (for the Country) (Philadelphia, PA), January 18, 1823, lists 46 votes for William Clark. This is either a misprint or an error, as 47 votes would not have been enough for a quorum (it would have required 60 votes).
