Notes:

[1]Massachusetts law required a majority to elect for the U.S. House of Representatives. The original election was held on November 5, 1798. A 3rd Trial would be held on April 1, 1799.
[2]Though Marshpee would be listed in the Original Election Returns throughout the late 18th and early 19th Centuries, it generally did not have votes. It was technically "lands belonging to Indians". Though it had been named Mashpee originally and was listed as such in the Original Election Returns, the 1788 act that re-incorporated it as a district officially listed it as Marshpee. This is the only known instance of votes being recorded in Marshpee for Congress in the 18th Century.
