[1]Various attempts to set up a county wide Federalist, or an opposition ticket in Hunterdon County failed. By the time of the election, most of the candidates nominated for Assembly had declined. However, these withdrawals were generally not common knowledge throughout the entire county and various Federalist tickets still received support from some voters.
