[3]"Wednesday, agreeably to notification, the inhabitants of this town convened at Faneuil Hall, for the purpose of choosing two persons to represent them in the General Court, in the room of the Honourable Caleb Davis, and John Coffin Jones, Esquires, resigned; when, at the close of the poll, it appeared, that the Honourable Oliver Wendell, and Christopher Gore, Esquires, were chose by a large majority."
