Notes:
[1]The Commercial Advertiser on May 3, 1800 was the first to print the complete New York Assembly returns by wards. These returns were re-printed in the Spectator [county edition of the Commercial Advertiser] and Daily Advertiser of May 5, 1800. When the Daily Advertiser reprinted the returns from the Commercial Advertiser, they made several type setting errors in the ward votes, but with only two exceptions their totals for the candidates agree.
