[3]"Glorious Triumph of Principle in Bucks County: 'I have particular satisfaction in transmitting you the returns of our county. Never was there more zeal and activity in the Democratic party; never more misrepresentation and corrupt influence by the federal party, to which was added the weight of Mr. Rodman's character, which was certainly of no inconsiderable avail. The Quakers, as well as with you, turned out to a man on the wrong side. I do not object to the Quakers voting as Tories, but I do object and protest against their professing and advising one way and acting another. We rejoice exceedingly in the result of our election and are very glad at your triumph in the City. Who will now say that Pennsylvania is not sound to the very heart's core." The Democratic Press (Philadelphia, PA). October 16, 1812.
[4]The Der unabhangige Republikaner und Lecha County Freyheits Freund (Allentown, PA) lists William Rodman with 352 votes and William Lattimore with 318 votes.
