Notes:

[1]In South Carolina, the Presidential electors were selected by the legislature. On occasion, polls were held to measure the popular opinion. However, these polls had little bearing on the result of the legislative election.
[2]"At a celebration on the 5th July, where a large number of citizens of Lexington district had assembled, a number of resolutions decidedly in support of Jackson were adopted with but two dissenting votes. The following is one of the resolutions: Resolved That we will support the election of Gen Andrew Jackson for the Presidency and John C. Calhoun for Vice-Presidency of the Unites States" The Knoxville Register (Knoxville, TN). August 6, 1824.
[3]These votes were cast during the election for a Sheriff in York District. That election was contested and the votes were not lists.
