The summary sheets list Thomas C. Worthington with 2094 votes and hand written county certificate states ". . .that Thomas C. Worthington had two thousand and ninety five votes."

[5]As noted from the Original Election Return for the 1824 Congressional Election there were two sets of returns, the Original County Certificates and a State Wide Summary sheet which gave the complete Congress returns by Districts. There was a vote difference between these two returns for Washington County. The difference in the votes appears to be in Hagerstown, where one source as a vote of 772 and another 792 for Thomas C. Worthington, which accounts for the difference in his total votes of 2095 and 2115.
[6]The October 8th edition of the Daily National Intelligencer, the October 16th edition of the Richmond Enquirer (Richmond, VA), the October 12th edition of the Republican Star and the American, and Commercial Daily Advertiser (Baltimore, MD) list 2125 votes for Thomas Worthington.
[7]The Frederick-Town Herald (Fredericktown, MD) lists 2095 votes for Thomas C. Worthington and 1446 votes for John Lee.
[8]The Reservoir lists 2095 votes for Thomas Worthington, 1446 votes for John Lee and 5 votes for Upton Bruce.
