[2]The disputed votes are not included in the regular tally of Rouse 487 and Johnson 480, however the election managers gave to Johnson the 14 votes in the Senate Box with the names for House candidates on them, which put his total as 494 and would give rise to the challenge by Mr. Rouse and his petition to overturn the election. The petition was denied and Col. Johnson was declared as Legally elected.
[3]John Johnson, Jr. was elected to replace Henry Middleton, who was elected Governor, and resigned from the senate.
