[3]In the Suffolk District, Jonathan Mason was initially supported by both parties; it seems however, that several days before the election some Federalists decided to support Andrew Ritchie. His candidacy, at such a late date did not receive wide backing and may not have been known outside of Boston, where he polled all of his votes.
