[2]"On Saturday last, the two Houses of our State Legislature met in Convention to supply the vacancy in the Senate occasioned by the death of the Hon. Oliver Crosby, a late member from this county. The constitutional candidates were, Jonas Sibley, Esq. of Sutton, who had 2963 votes, and Zadock Gates, Esq. who had 2959 votes at the last April election.
