[5]The Otsego Herald (Cooperstown, NY) uses the name Abel Deforest for Adel De Forest.
[6]"From the Cooperstown Federalist (Cooperstown, NY), May 1: Election. -- We have verbal accounts from most of the towns in this county, and can with confidence state, that the Peace Ticket for Congress and Assembly will have a majority of about 200 -- it may exceed 250. This cannot fail to gratify all our friends, especially when they take into consideration the strenuous efforts made by our opponents and their pledges to the Tyburn gentry that Otsego should give a good account of herself. The political character of the County is now established -- we have a handsome federal majority notwithstanding the despicable means used by the war men to deceive and mislead the less informed of our fellow citizens."
