[2]"For the office of Clerk of the House, there were two candidates, Daniel Rodman, Esq. Late of Hudson, and Gerrit Y. Lansing, Esq. of this city, the Clerk of the last year. Mr. Rodman was supported by the republicans. The choice was made by ballot, and the votes having been counted, were for Mr. Rodman 60, Mr. Lansing 21, Republican Majority 39 There were, however, three scattering votes, making the whole number of members present, Eighty Four."
