Notes:

[1]Elected.
[2]Official Election Returns were reported by the Connecticut Mirror on May 18, 1812 and those results were republished in various other newspapers across the state. It appears however, that the vote given for Elijah Boardman as Governor is incorrect. In that issue the vote for Elijah Boardman is given as 1487. In their issue of April 20, 1812, which has township returns from 98 towns, and with 21 still missing, his vote is 1445. A week later, having results from 105 towns the vote for Elijah Boardman is given as 1545. Most of the remaining fourteen town still to report were Republican, and they would have increased the vote for Elijah Boardman. As results were being reported, the Connecticut Gazette (New London, CT) of April 22, 1812 had this comment: "The whole number of votes for Governor will be about 14,000, of which Governor Griswold will have about 12,000. Mr. Boardman between 16 and 1700, the remainder scattering." It will be noted, that these figures closely match those given above, with 11,721 for Roger Griswold and a total vote of 13,992.
[3]The Windham Herald (Windham, CT) lists Roger Griswold with 140 votes.
