Notes:

[1]Elected.
[2]"At the Nauhunty election in Wayne county, where Blackledge received 300 votes and Stanly only 20, there were 32 votes counted out more than voters. A fellow of the name of Joseph Martin, insisted on putting his ticket in the box; he was suspected and not indulged; his ticket was examined and found to contain 10 small tickets not more than one sixth of an inch wide, upon each of which was written "Blackledge." A number of this kind were taken from the Congress box and accounts for the supernumerary 32. Deduct these from Mr. Blackledge's poll, and the federal majority is 217." The Minerva (Raleigh, NC). September 1, 1808.
